Police charge Maroochydore man with using phone to video 40 people in homesABC Sunshine CoastTopic:Crime1h ago1 hours agoThu 8 May 2025 at 12:34amLoading...abc.net.au/news/man-allegedly-filmed-40-people-inside-homes-maroochydore/105267354Link copiedShareShare articleA man has been charged after allegedly secretly filming about 40 people, including children, inside their homes on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.A police search in February allegedly uncovered child exploitation material at the 32-year-old's Maroochydore home.Officers then allegedly found photos and videos of about 40 people filmed on his mobile phone, mostly through windows in Maroochydore.Of those, 23 have now been identified, including four children.Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigations Branch Officer in Charge Detective Senior Sergeant Robert Lowry said police were still working to identify the others captured in the videos."People should not have to fear a breach of privacy in the comfort of their own home," he said.The recordings were allegedly made from late 2021 to February this year. The 32-year-old was arrested on Wednesday on five counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16, one count of indecent treatment of a child under 12 and stalking.
