In sentencing, Judge Richard Weinstein said Ms Anderson's was a "tragedy for her friends and for her family"."It is also a tragedy for the community, which has lost one of its contributing members at a tender age when a long and fulfilling life awaited her," he said."On behalf of the community, the court acknowledges the pain and suffering of each of the victims and expresses its condolences to all who loved and have lost Mackenzie Anderson.""Their loss will last across lifetimes."Justice Weinstein also pointed to the offender's "significant" criminal record, including intimidation and damaging property.Thompson will be eligible for parole in 2038.Family and friends say Mackenzie Anderson had dreams for her future. (Supplied: Facebook)Two weeks before the attack on Ms Anderson, he was released on parole from a prison term for domestic violence offences against Ms Anderson.Thompson admitted to messaging people asking for her phone number before of his release.He breached an apprehended violence order when he tracked her down.On the night in question a neighbour heard Thompson yell, "F**k ya! Stab me, stab me, stab me!", as she saw a terrified Ms Anderson pressed against a window like she was trying to break it.The court was told Thompson suffered a cut to his hand and that Ms Anderson had earlier held a knife he later grabbed.Within minutes she was dying while on the phone to police.The court heard MacKenzie Anderson lived in fear of Tyrone Thompson. (Supplied: Facebook)DV and fearPolice facts tendered in court said Thompson's relationship with Ms Anderson was "marred" by domestic violence.Ms Anderson's mother Tabitha Acret used her victim impact statement to describe her daughter living in fear."Mackenzie was convinced Tyrone would murder her on his [parole] release," Ms Acret said."She was in fear all the time."Mackenzie Anderson's mum says she wanted to be a yoga teacher.
