As a result, Priyanka performed the last rites, assisted by a relative and local police officials.Police said that Tripti’s mother and other relatives declined to take responsibility for the funeral. “The relatives, including Tripti’s mother, refused to accept her body. Hence, with the help of her mother-in-law, the last rites were performed," Madhukar Salve, inspector at Chopda city police station, was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.Tripti and Avinash had reportedly been in a relationship for five years.
