Ferdinand Marcos Jr has been fined for a disorderly incident on a flight to Sydney last year.Analisa Josefa Corr, and her partner James Corr were travelling on a Jetstar flight from Hobart on December 28, when they illegally drank alcohol not supplied to them by cabin crew and caused a disturbance. The couple were arrested by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) when the plane touched down in Sydney. In a statement in January, the AFP said the pair were "intoxicated" and Analisa Corr was accused of "grabbing and shaking another passenger while exiting the aircraft toilet".The pair pleaded guilty to a reduced set of charges on Monday, with Analisa Corr's assault charge dropped by the prosecution. It has been reported that Analisa Corr's mother, Australian-based model Evelin Hegyesi, had an affair with the former Philippines dictator Ferdinand Marcos. The Sydney Morning Herald published an investigation in 2004 detailing financial links between the Marcos family and Ms Hegyesi.Current Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, the son of the late dictator, has denied that she is his half-sister.'Fairly serious matter'Lawyer Jasmina Ceic said Analisa Corr had only consumed a small amount of alcohol, and had taken a dose of a painkillers due to a broken rib."We say that the offence falls at the lower end of the scale," Ms Ceic told the court."The consumption of alcohol relates to one sip."The couple's lawyers argued for no conviction to be recorded due to their lack of criminal history and need to travel to the United States for work.Magistrate Rosheehan O'Meagher said she had to weigh good character against the need to deter people behaving dangerously on flights after consuming alcohol."For both of you, it's clearly out of character and I can see that you're both remorseful for what has happened," she said."On the flip side of that, this is a fairly serious matter, when people become intoxicated on planes it causes problems, it causes havoc, apart from it also being a safety issue."The magistrate fined Analisa Corr $800 and James Corr $400, opting for convictions to be recorded against both of them.Speaking outside the court, Analisa Corr's lawyer said the couple would be appealing that decision.Posted 32m ago32 minutes agoMon 5 May 2025 at 5:42am, updated 31m ago31 minutes agoMon 5 May 2025 at 5:42amShare optionsCopy linkFacebookX (formerly Twitter)Top
