The LNP will not win from this position.But it has not been clear whether Ms Watson-Brown or Labor's Rebecca Hack will finish second after the exclusion of the other five candidates.The ABC's chief elections analyst Antony Green says a provisional "three candidate preferred" count conducted by the electoral commission has clarified that Labor will not catch up to the Greens.It means Ms Watson-Brown will go on to hold the seat.In a post to X, Ms Watson-Brown said she was "still watching the count closely". Her colleagues — Max Chandler-Mather in Griffith, and Stephen Bates in Brisbane — both lost their seats to the ALP, while party leader Adam Bandt failed to retain the seat of Melbourne. Asked ahead of the election if the 2025 campaign had been harder than the last, Ms Watson-Brown said it was "very different"."There are lots of reasons that it's quite different — one of those is that they didn't see us coming last time. I had to get a nearly 10 per cent swing to get into this position of a slim margin.
