(ABC News: Marco Catalano)In short: Greens MLC Tammy Franks has quit the SA party room.The upper house MP has been with SA Greens for 15 years.What's next?Ms Franks says she will sit as an independent but will not run again after next year.abc.net.au/news/sa-greens-mp-tammy-franks-resign/105286058Link copiedShareShare articleSouth Australian Greens politician Tammy Franks says she is resigning from the party and will sit as an independent until the next election.Ms Franks told ABC Radio Adelaide her decision was based on internal tensions within the party."I have not done this very lightly, it's been a long time coming and it's a really difficult decision that's seen me grieve over many, many months," she said."I will share a full statement with them [party members] as well as hope they understand my reasoning's [sic] as I take action against the Greens under the Associations and Corporations Act for unfair and oppressive behaviour."It has affected my mental health and I have decided not to put up with it any longer."She says she will sit as an independent from Tuesday afternoon.Ms Franks said she would be a "progressive independent" for the remainder of the parliamentary term.Tammy Franks announced her resignation on ABC Radio Adelaide.
